When I heard he was retiring and I was being referred to another agent, Steve Pescetti. "Chris Nichols is absolutely fantastic! I recently purchased a new marine vessel and had hoped to continue with the prior coverage the prior owner had purchased - not in NY I was told. I had used State Farm for prior vessels and made the call to my new local office (I was upstate NY until recently). Chis answered the phone promptly, was extemely courteous and took time to understand what I was looking for in insurance. He really impressed me with his honesty and I felt I was working with an insurance partner - not a salesman! There was one item (small upcharge for additional coverage) yes he pitched the item as per what I assume was his sales training - but when I asked him exactly the details were on the coverage he stated "I don;t know exactly - but I will find out!" No BS, no selling me something I didn't need, no jacking up the rates. I did end up buying the additional coverage after he provided all the answers I was seeking. Chris is an asset to Steve Pescetti;s State Farm office and I am hoping this review will generate all of the following (a pay increase, a larger commission, additional recognition for his work and satisfaction of a job well done). It has been my experience lately that customer service has deteriorated due to sales staff just wanting to put in their hours and collect their pay.
